Food Facts: Spinach
Blogged by: Parkmore Shopping Centre 19 May 2016
Today’s food facts from Norton Plaza is about Spinach. It’s no news that leafy greens are good for us but why?  And how?  Well a few reasons actually!

Spinach is full of anti-aging antioxidants and pigments as iron which is fundamental in restoring our energy levels (there was some truth in Popeye’s love for the green!)  Spinach is also a great source of vitamin K, vitamin A, vitamin C, folic acid, magnesium and vitamin B2 – the list never stops!  The vitamin K (maintains bone health) is especially important as it is difficult to find this vitamin in such a rich form! The Chlorphyll (what gives spinach it’s deep green colour) has anti-inflammatory and anti-cancerous properties promoting healthy eye-sight preventing cataracts.

All that and it’s delicious!

Pick up some spinach for your next meal from Keysborough's favourite fresh food shop, Parkmore Grocer.
